DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 last night for their sixth straight win.
Rookie Matt Manning notched his second win and Zack Short hit a two-run homer for Detroit.
The Rangers losing streak is up to eight straight games. Texas was able to get the tying run to second base in the ninth inning, but managed just one hit with runners in scoring position for the game.
Tyler Alexander gets the start for the Tigers while Mike Foltynewicz takes the mound for the Rangers in this afternoon’s series finale. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
