STURGIS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A large bust by the Southwest Enforcement Team (South Team) and the DEA took place in Sturgis Township Tuesday evening, resulting in drugs and weapons being seized.
Two simultaneous search warrants were served in the 31000 block of Fawn River Road in Sturgis Township. One search warrant was conducted on large piece of property containing several structures and out buildings, and the other on a residence in Sturgis Township.
During the search, detectives located LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide), along with illegal drug paraphernalia.
Detectives also seized a total of ten long guns and five handguns.
Police say this case will be forwarded to U.S. Attorney’s Office with a request for federal indictment once laboratory results are obtained.
LSD is a known hallucinogenic drug and is classified as a schedule #1 drug by the DEA. Police say seizures of LSD have been rising in Michigan since 2019.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many suspects could face charges in this incident.
