VALLEY TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE: The Great Lakes Engineering Group (GLEG) has identified a diver who died while inspecting a dam in Allegan County last week.
The diver was identified as Brian Trahey. On July 7, he had gone under the water to inspect the Calkins Bridge Dam in Valley Township as part of a Consumers Energy project.
A search was prompted when he failed to resurface, and his body was recovered later that afternoon.
“Team GLEG is very sad to have to announce such tragic news regarding a valued member of our team,” officials said in a statement. “Please keep the Trahey family in your thoughts and prayers.”
According to GLEG, Trahey was an experienced diver with over 1,000 dives in his lifetime. He was also described as a loving husband and father.
