BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The cause of a fire that broke out in a home in the 400 block of Hamblin Avenue early Thursday morning is being investigated by the Battle Creek Fire Marshal.
Battle Creek firefighters were called to 468 Hamblin Avenue at 1:23 a.m..
The first crews on the scene found heavy fire coming out of a side of the wood-frame structure. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and managed to quickly gain control of the fire.
Damage was reported in the kitchen area. After the flames were brought under control, fire units performed overhaul work and checked for any extensions.
No firefighters or civilians were injured.
