GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A camera which held hundreds of pediatric patients’ photos has been stolen from a doctor’s car according to Spectrum Health.
Over 900 patient photos including names, birthdays, medical record numbers and appointment dates were stored in the camera. The patients include those who visited dermatology clinics run by Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Lansing and Grand Rapids between February 15th and June 22nd, when the camera was stolen.
The hospital says it is no longer allowing doctors to use personal cameras to take photos of patients, nor will it allow physicians to take cameras outside the facility.
Anyone who has questions about the theft can call Spectrum Health.
