GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A former Spring Lake softball coach has been convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Thomas Galloway is liable to spend up to 40 years in prison for performing multiple sex acts with one of the teenage softball players on his travel fast pitch team, the Michigan Sabercats.
The victim released a statement to the Ottawa County Circuit Court against Galloway Monday, August 7, saying that the abuse started when she was 13. The victim also claimed Galloway gave her drugs and alcohol while the abuse occurred.
Galloway pleaded no contest to four first-degree sexual assault charges. State records show that Galloway has a prior felony charge of marijuana manufacture in Muskegon County.
