DEARBORN (WKZO-AM/FM) — AAA says Michigan’s average gas price is up seven cents this week to $2.49.
“That has to do with more travel, summer travel is still high, and we’re also looking at a bit of a drop in the availability of crude oil,” auto club spokesperson Gary Bubar said.
Bubar said prices are expected to gradually rise through Labor Day, assuming all variables remain constant. He also said drivers likely won’t notice any significant reductions until refineries begin producing cheaper winter formulations.
The average Monday morning was $2.46 in Kalamazoo, $2.49 in Grand Rapids and $2.47 in Lansing, according to GasBuddy.com.
