EAST LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan State University is saying “no” to the National Policy Institute and white nationalist Richard Spencer, after the group asked to rent a venue on campus for an event next month.
He is a promoter of the alt-right movement which has anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant and white-supremacist beliefs. Spencer is calling the decision “obvious censorship”.
The University says while they support the expression of a wide divergence of beliefs, they say the safety and security of their students and the community comes first.
