LANSING, MI — Governor Gretchen Whitmer today announced the MI (MY) Shot to Win Sweepstakes at the Cristo Rey Community Center in Lansing. The goal of the incentive is to encourage people to get the COVID-19 vaccination.
Over five-million dollars will be given away to anyone 18 and older who’s had at least one vaccine shot. Even those previously vaccinated will be eligible to enter. There will be a $1 million drawing and another $2 million drawing. The first million dollar drawing is set for July 11.
The state says 61-point-seven-percent of people 16 and older have had at least their first vaccination dose. The goal is to have 70-percent vaccinated.
