KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Thirteen Michigan schools have been listed as some of the nation’s best.
Nationwide, over 340 schools made the 2017 National Blue Ribbon Schools list.
Many are on the east side of the state, but some honorees are in west Michigan. The list includes Countryside Elementary in Byron Center, Dix Street Elementary in Otsego, Lincoln School in St. Joseph and Pinewood Elementary in Jenison.
The rundown is compiled annually by the U.S. Department of Education and features both public and private schools.
Each school will be formally honored November in Washington, D.C.
