VICKSBURG (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s department is requesting open murder warrants against five people in the Erik Cross cold case murder from 1983.
It’s been Vicksburg’s secret shame for over three decades, according to those who believe there has been a conspiracy of silence to cover up what initially looked like a hit and run fatality, but is alleged to be something much more cruel and criminal.
His dad found the 16-year-old’s battered and crumpled body on the street outside their home when he came out to get the paper 35-year-ago.
Cross’s sister, Jackie Mitchell says they have been waiting a long time for justice.
Brenton Spaulding has been the person of interest for some years, and now four others may also be implicated and charged.
