ST. JOSEPH COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman who allegedly used an eating utensil to defend her boyfriend says it was self-defense.
An 18-year old woman from Sturgis is free on bond this morning after she was charged with felonious assault for allegedly attacking a man with a fork.
It happened in White Pigeon Township late Monday night in the 11-thousand block of Riverside Drive.
Emily Carpenter claims she was just trying to get a 29-year-old acquaintance to stop choking her fiancée after the two men had begun to fight.
The victim suffered numerous stab wounds around the neck and head but they were superficial wounds, and he will recover.
