ATHENS TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Deputies responding to a landlord-tenant dispute think they have stumbled across a cockfighting ring in Athens Township. ‘
They were dispatched to the location just after noon on Friday to a home in the 3000 block of 3-1/2 Mile Road.
They seized just over two dozen hens and roosters and other items that they say constitute evidence of cockfighting.
Charges are pending against a 46-year-old man from Athens Township who was not home at the time of the discovery.
