NEW YORK (WKZO AM/FM) –A Michigan man brought air travel at LaGuardia Airport in New York to a halt Saturday morning when he allegedly told an airline employee he had a bomb in his bag.
Airport authorities say 70-year-old John Park of Farmington was reportedly furious because a Spirit Airline ticket agent had just told him that he had to pay a $50 luggage fee.
Park allegedly mentioned the bomb and stormed away. Security shut down the terminal, evacuated the place, arrested Park and determined there was no bomb.
Park was charged with a felony for making a bomb threat but freed without paying any bond.
He told reporters that he is Asian and it’s a cultural thing to joke around.
