PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The City of Portage has announced its next “Friday at the Flats” event, which is scheduled to take place later this week.
On Friday, July 2, the event will return to the Celery Flats Pavilion, located at 7335 Garden Lane.
It will take place from 4 to 8 p.m., and will occur on the first Friday of each following month through September. The event hosts food vendors and live music.
According to an announcement by the city, the event will feature an array of vendors, including the following:
- Blue Plate Food Truck,
- Cairo’s Kitchen,
- PJW Creole Cuisine,
- Specialty Cheesecake and Dessert Company
Live music will be performed by Ellis & M.E. and The Iconix Band. The city provided the following statement regarding the performers:
“Ellis & M.E. is a trio whose groove comes from a creative blend of wood & strings, innovative songwriting, tight vocal harmonies and covers that speak to our lives and times. The Iconix Band is devoted to the iconic melodies, instrumentation, and rhythms of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and today.”
Friday at the Flats is open to the public and admission is free.
Food vendors accept cash and credit/debit cards.
Seating is limited, but lawn space is plentiful, so blankets and lawn chairs are welcome.
