KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners will be holding interviews Tuesday afternoon to fill the vacant District 2 seat.
The seat was previously held by Zac Bauer, who stepped down earlier this month. His reason for doing so is because of a new job as Executive Director of Local Initiatives Support Corporation, which bolsters the community through housing and small business financing.
Applicants must live in District 2, which includes mainly the Milwood neighborhood in Kalamazoo. The term will run through December 31, 2022.
According to county documents, there are five applicants for the position. Their names are listed as follows:
- Thom Miller
- Monteze Morales
- Shoni Newhouse
- Alex Sanchez
- Tammy Taylor
The meeting for interviews will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
