STEPHENSON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two months from today, October 25, it’s Christmas and the state of Michigan already has their tree.
This year a a 61-foot spruce has been chosen as the official Christmas tree. For the last 32 years, the state has chosen a tree from Menominee County in the Upper Peninsula.
The spruce will be cut down in the town of Stephenson and then taken to Lansing where it will be placed at the intersection of Capitol and East Michigan avenues on Saturday, october 28.
The tree will be lit during the Silver Bells in the City event on November 17.
