KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The family of Theresa Lockhart says there will probably be a mass in Kalamazoo County for the murdered teacher, and funeral services in Grand Rapids, where her family lives.
Her sister Joan Mullowney says they had been holding out faint hope that she might still be alive and coping with the news of her confirmed death, after her body was found this week in a shallow grave in the Allegan State Game area.
Mullowney says she is trying hard to forgive Christopher Lockhart, who confessed to killing Theresa last May in a suicide note he wrote just before he hung himself.
She says she think he took the “coward’s way out” and that she probably can’t forgive.
Christopher Lockhart reportedly said how she died in his last letter, but police are not releasing that information and are waiting on autopsy results to confirm it.
