PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) — Sgt. Casey Davis now says they believe the suspect vehicle is 2000 gold or tan Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis. It would have substantial damage to the headlight and front end on the passenger side with a damaged miror on that side as well.
WAVERLY TOWNSHIP, VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — Detectives are asking for the help of the public to track down a hit and run driver who struck a man walking his dog along M-43 and then left him to die in a ditch.
It’s not known if 25-year-old Keaton Dorman might have survived if the person who struck him had stayed at the scene and gotten help for the Paw Paw man who was scheduled to be married this Saturday.
Dorman’s dog did not leave his side and when a passerby, fearing for the dog’s safety, stopped at about 8:30 Monday morning along the busy highway near Waverly St. to investigate, they discovered Dorman’s body. This was 9 hours after Dorman left his home with the dog.
Sgt. Casey Davis says from the shattered car parts they were able to recover from the scene, they believe he was struck by a tan or gold Ford. They are sending the pieces to a place where they can narrow down the make and model.
Davis says the car should have substantial damage to the front passenger side, and the side mirror. Detectives hope to have a better handle on the time he was killed and the make and model of the vehicle as the week progresses. They are also going through surveillance tapes from businesses along the road to see if they can spot the vehicle.
They are also asking the person responsible to turn themselves in.
