THREE RIVERS (WKZO AM/FM) — Two suspected meth dealers have been charged with attempted murder after a member of the St. Joseph County Narcotics unit claimed one of them tried to run him down with his car during an undercover drug sting at Heimbach Road off U.S.131 north of Three Rivers.
They claim that when a uniformed officer appeared at the drug scene to make the arrest Wednesday evening, Lloyd O’Connor of Marcellus backed into an unmarked police cruiser and then drove at the officer, who fired one round into the windshield, hitting O’Connor in the shoulder.
The 35-year-old O’Connor was treated and released at Bronson Hospital. The officer was also treated for minor injuries.
Both O’Connor and his alleged partner in crime, 32-year-old Jordan Raymond of Menominee have also been charged with possession with intent to deliver meth and multiple counts of assault and obstructing a police officer.
