LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Responsibility for operations at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans has fallen to an experienced administrator from the Lansing area.
Tracey Nelson takes over as Administrator for the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans on December 4th. Her appointment was announced on Monday by Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Director James Robert Redford, and she replaces Steve Rolston, who returns to his duties as the agency’s chief operating officer.
Nelson has spent the past five-plus years as the administrator at MediLodge of Capital Area, overseeing a variety of services to 120 residents, and had been with Lutheran Homes of Michigan, Nexcare Health Services and Shoreline Health Care previously. She will now be responsible for more than 300 members at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
Rolston had been interim administrator since the resignation of Scott Blakeney in August, The Grand Rapids Home has been the subject since early last year of a number of reported issues dealing with quality of care, understaffing, and falsifying records.
