LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — State officials planned to release emergency rules regulating medical marijuana this week, but like everything else with the getting the effort off the ground, it’s been delayed.
They now hope to issue them next week.
Licensing and Regulatory Affairs says they are still being reviewed by the Legislative Service Bureau and the office of Regulatory Reinvention.
These are the emergency rules that are being rushed into place to get the program started on time.
The final rules won’t be available until six months or more after the state has started taking license applications.
Many local municipalities have been waiting for these rules to help them draft local ordinances, and interested entrepreneurs have also been waiting to see them.
They will just have to wait a little longer.
