KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A body spotted in the Kalamazoo River by a citizen has been tentatively identified as 27- year-old Daniel Redd of Kalamazoo Township, who was reported missing last week.
An autopsy is scheduled for today to try to verify the identity and determine a cause of death.
There were no obvious signs of trauma according to Township Police Chief Tim Bourgeois.
The body was spotted and reported in the water at around 8:00 p.m. Monday near the Rose Park Veteran’s Memorial on East Michigan Avenue downtown. He was last seen alive leaving an unidentified “establishment” in the 1300 block of Ravine Road early last Wednesday morning.
He was reported missing by his family soon after. Redd leaves behind a wife and a newborn.
