PONTIAC (WKZO AM/FM) Metro Detroiters will say goodbye to the Pontiac Silverdome as it goes out with a bang and one last tailgate party Sunday.
The derelict stadium that lost its roof to a winter storm now has moss growing in luxury boxes.
The arena once hosted the Clash, the Stones, The Who, the Lions and the Pistons, a Super Bowl and a World Cup and even the Pope.
After the Lions left, the property under the dome was deemed to be more valuable than the dome itself.
The Coliseum in Rome has lasted nearly 2000 years. The Silverdome will be imploded after just 42 years.
