LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Monday, Speaker Tom Leonard called for the Resignation of MSU President Lou Anna Simon following the Larry Nassar scandal, but not everyone agrees.
Just a few weeks ago the MSU board of Trustee gave Simon a vote of confidence.
Now the speaker says Simon has to go for the good of the University, and “to let the healing process begin”.
State Senator Tonya Schuitmaker of Lawton, says do they should do the investigation first, find out the facts and then determine who is culpable.
She suggests that Leonard is jumping the gun on the call for her to resign before they know the facts.
both Leonard and Shuitmaker are campaigning to be the GOP nominee for Attorney General.
