LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — The State Senate has unanimously approved the “Privacky Bill”, which will allow school districts the option of adding signs on the backs of their School buses, closer to eye level, that clearly spell out what motorists are supposed to do when the red and yellow lights start flashing.
It’s named for Bruce and Tony Privacky were just 16 and 13 when they died after their car plowed into the back of a school bus 6 years ago this week.
Rep. Holly Hughes sponsored the legislation, and their parents who are acquaintances were there for the vote.
The bill doesn’t require school districts to add the signs but allows the option.
The Legislation now heads for the Governor’s desk.
