LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — This year’s legislative sessions have concluded in Lansing and they won’t meet again until after the New Year, but one lawmaker will still be making the trek to the capitol daily.
State Senator Rick Jones doesn’t live that far away, in Grand Ledge.
He came in Thursday to continue setting up a Nativity Scene on the lawn of the State Capitol.
He has been doing it for the last four years, since the Satanic Temple of Detroit announced they would be setting up their own display.
By Capitol rules it has to come down by 9pm each evening and be reassembled the next day.
The Pagans have long since given up their effort to promote Satan in Lansing. Jones says its a lot of work but worth it, because it gets great reactions from the people he meets.
Jones plans to continue putting the manger scene up and taking it down each day until December 20th.
