BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A high speed police pursuit in Battle Creek has ended with the death of the suspect.
The speeding driver was first spotted driving recklessly on Capital Avenue S.W. in Battle Creek by a patrol officer at about 3:30 Sunday morning.
The officer initiated a chase and tried to pull the driver over when he finally caught up.
The suspect took off at a higher rate of speed, running red lights and stop signs.
The suspect failed to negotiate a curve on Golden Avenue near South Raymond Road in Emmett Township and crashed.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the driver will be withheld until family can be notified.
