NETHERLANDS (WKZO AM/FM) — Just two weeks into the Ambassadorship of Pete Hoekstra, a number of groups, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations is calling for his resignation after he got caught in a tangle of lies by a Dutch reporter about several misstatements he made about the state of terrorism in the Netherlands.
The reporter says the things Hoekstra claimed about terrorists and “no-go zones never happened.
He said just were not true…but Hoekstra denied he ever said them calling it ‘fake news’. When shown the video, Hoekstra claimed he never said it was fake news…even though he did just seconds before.
It left the reporter perplexed.
It prompted the CAIR Group to say that anyone “who lies so shamelessly, can only harm our nation’s image, calling for Hoekstra to be replaced.
Hoekstra is a former Congressmand from Holland, Michigan who chaired the House Intelligence Committee. He was sworn in by the Vice President earlier this month.
