MUSKEGON (WKZO AM/FM) — The man being held following the death investigation of Sheila Bonge of Muskegon County will have to wait until Tuesday for a bond hearing and arraignment, not that he is likely to be freed then either.
Wendell Popejoy is expected to be charged with Felony Murder, and if bond is set, it would probably be set very high.
ORIGINAL STORY:
CROCKERY TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — As family and friends grieve the apparent murder of a 59-year-old Nunica woman, apparently the neighbors didn’t care much for 59-year-old Sheila Bonge, and one of them is now being held for her death.
Her family last spoke to her on Christmas but did not report her missing until Thursday, when they realized the Ottawa County woman was gone according to Sheriff Steve Kempker
Sheriff’s Captain Jon Wolffis says it took less than a day for search teams to find her body and identify a suspect, who was taken into custody.
Multiple sources are saying that 63-year-old neighbor Wendell Popejoy has been taken into custody and could be charged with her murder as soon as today.
Neighbors say there was constant conflict in the area, and police say they have been to that street nearly half a dozen times responding to complaints and disputes.
