KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The man accused of killing six people and wounding two others in a series of random shootings throughout the Kalamazoo area is said to be talking with investigators.
Lt. Dale Hinz with Michigan State Police tells Michael-Patrick Sheils that 45-year-old Jason Dalton seemed “even-keeled” during police interrogation.
“People are asking, you know, what kind of animal does this? What can we expect from an individual like this?” Hinz said. “But he’s not a remarkable man at all. There’s nothing that gives you pause or takes you back.”
Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Getting would not comment on the interviews, but said Dalton was “even-tempered” when he was approached by law enforcement near a bar parking lot and arrested early Sunday.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller also refused to comment.
Hinz says a motive has not been established.
