KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The more we find out about suspected mass-murderer Jason Dalton from his friends and family, the more perplexing the story becomes.
Delores Axe said she has known the 45-year-old for many years.
“He was at our house Thursday night eating chicken salad sandwiches,” Axe said. “This is just not Jason. It’s just not. I don’t know what happened.”
Jonathan Southwick, who owns a gun store in Plainwell, said he saw Dalton just hours before the shooting spree began and he was laughing and joking.
“I went over to him and asked how he was doing, I hadn’t seen him in a while, and he said he was doing good, he was just out enjoying the weather,” Southwick said.
Dalton, an owner of 16 guns, told one friend he was afraid recent mass-killings elsewhere would force the government to restrict firearms.
Now, President Obama is using Dalton as an example of why more gun control is needed.
