LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan’s COVID-19 restrictions could be lifted ahead of schedule, according to a report from MLive Wednesday.
Currently, state restrictions are set to end on July 1, but Governor Whitmer has indicated it might happen sooner, according to the report.
She made the following statement in Grand Rapids on Wednesday –
“Thanks to this rollout and to all the Michiganders who’ve gotten their shot, we’re looking forward at the next rollback in the coming days. It’s scheduled for July 1, but I think you should stay tuned.”
In the last few weeks, new cases of COVID-19 have continued to drop. Earlier on Wednesday, the state said that only 179 new cases had been reported.
MLive said there could be a new announcement on Thursday or Friday.
