BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A shooting victim in Battle Creek is recovering from injuries after a man fired numerous gunshots into a crowd of people during a birthday party.
Police were called around 1:00 a.m. Monday to the first block of Willis St.. A 38-year-old man was located with two wounds to the leg, but his current condition was not reported.
A female witness told officers as many as 100 people were at the party and she saw people begin running away from the scene as a man in the street fired up to 20 shots at the crowd. There’s limited information about the suspect, but he was said to be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the NASA logo on it. Police are continuing to follow leads to try to identify the man.
There’s no word if anyone else was injured in the shootings.
