KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Family Health Center (FHC) has announced that its next vaccine clinic will reach new heights as FHC partners with the Kalamazoo Air Zoo to protect people against COVID-19.
FHC will land at the Air Zoo on Friday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It will provide the first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to anyone who needs it. There is no cost for the vaccine, and participants will receive a free Air Zoo pass to be used for a future visit to the museum.
The Air Zoo will host a follow-up clinic for second doses from FHC on Friday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In an effort to end COVID-19 in the Kalamazoo community, many organizations like Family Health Center and the Air Zoo are partnering and finding ways to incentivize people to help stop the pandemic.
“The opportunity to partner with FHC was a no-brainer,” Air Zoo President & CEO Troy Thrash said in a statement. “We love and celebrate science every day at the Air Zoo. We are proud to be able to support our community in this way.”
Thrash added that participants will receive a free pass to come back and experience the Air Zoo when it works best for them.
Community-based health centers like FHC continue to provide services throughout their communities by meeting people where they are.
“We must go to any location where we can help a greater number of people who still need vaccinating,” FHC President & CEO Denise Crawford said in a statement. “It is so important for all of us in Kalamazoo to become vaccinated, and we really love when compelling places like the Air Zoo offer great incentives. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Walk-ins are welcome at the June 25 clinic, though participants are encouraged to make appointments to make the process quick and efficient.
