STURGIS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Authorities in St. Joseph County are investigating two separate incidents involving thefts related to vehicles.
Sheriff’s deputies say a black 1997 Chevy Trailblazer was taken from the 25000 Block of U.S. 12 in Sturgis Township. It’s believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 6:00 p.m. Friday and 7:00 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle has a spare tire on the back and a Michigan registration plate of DWH-9178.
Deputies are also investigating a stolen catalytic converter from a Jeep. The vehicle was parked at the Portage Lake Public access point on Silver St. in Mendon Township. That theft occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
