BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Statistics from the Calhoun County Health Department show the county is lagging behind the State of Michigan in the percentage of people who have gotten their COVID-19 vaccination.
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, Calhoun County had a total of 12,360 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 293 deaths attributed to the virus.
The State vaccine dashboard shows that as of Wednesday, 96,587 doses have been administered to Calhoun County residents from various sources.
Calhoun County is reporting 48.3% of the population have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 42.9% have completed a two-dose series. The goal is to have 70% of Calhoun County residents vaccinated.
As of Wednesday, nearly 60 percent of Michigan residents 16 and older have gotten at least their first COVID-19 shot
Vaccine clinics in Calhoun County are scheduled to take place on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Kellogg Community College’s North Parking Lot and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Homer High School.
Other clinics will be on Tuesday, June 15 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Minges Creek Parking Lot and on Saturday, June 19 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Holland Park in Albion.
