LANSING, MI — The City of Lansing has an opening for a new police chief. Current Chief Daryl Green announced Wednesday that he is retiring after 25 years of service. The chief’s retirement is effective June 25, 2021.
Green has been in the Lansing Police Department since January, 1997 and was the Chief of Police since June of 2019.
Lansing Mayor Schor said in a statement the search for a replacement will begin immediately. Meanwhile, Lansing’s Senior Police Captain Ellery Sosebee will serve as the interim Lansing Police Chief beginning June 26, 2021, according to a city press release.
