EAST LANSING, MI — Beginning today vaccinated students and employees of Michigan State University will be allowed to go maskless on campus, both indoors and outdoors, for the first time in over a year. The school made the announcement via the university’s website on Tuesday night.
Those who are not vaccinated or decline to answer the vaccination status question on the school’s health screening form must continue wearing a face mask indoors and physically distance from others, according to the school.
“If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to get your COVID-19 vaccine soon,” wrote University President Samuel L. Stanley. “It is the best way to return to normal, and I know many of us want those typical college experiences, together, in the fall.”.
The president’s statement says the school is hoping to experience a normal school year beginning in the fall.
