UNDATED (WHTC)- Michigan gas prices continued to be a great holiday reprieve for drivers in West Michigan, who have enjoyed the first sub $2 dollar per gallon gas prices since the Winter of 2008.
Some service stations in Holland and Grand Haven were selling gas for under $1.75 a gallon. The average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan currently stands at $1.97 a gallon. Last year at this time local prices for a gallon of regular gas were $1.40 more. The price for a barrel of crude oil continued its downward trend at just under $53, a far cry from the $100 barrels purchased in July of this year. The low gas prices are expected to remain in the area for a while.
