LANSING (WKZO) — Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette and State Police officials are touting the early success of the OK2SAY! school safety initiative. In just its first semester being used statewide, it generated 410 tips, including 163 for bullying and cyberbullying, 54 suicide threats and 13 tips on child abuse.
The program was created through the Student Safety Act signed into law by Governor Snyder, with a focus on early intervention and prevention. It is modeled after Colorado’s Safe2Tell, which began after the 1999 Columbine attack.
