NASHVILLE (WKZO) — A 19-year-old Michigan man is headed to Hollywood, thanks to a golden ticket from Jennifer Lopez and company on Thursday night’s edition of American Idol.
Alex Shier, from Fort Gratiot, made it through the first round of the show, now in its 14th season, when they held auditions in Nashville last July. He’s not allowed to say how far he made it, but he said it was a humbling and overwhelming experience.
Shier had tried out in 2013, too, but didn’t make it through that year.
