DETROIT (WKZO) — Honda has agreed to pay 70-million dollars to the U.S. government for failing to report hundreds of injuries and deaths involving its cars.
Transportation officials have announced that Honda failed to report more than 17-hundred cases of death or injury between July 2003 and June 2014. Eight of those incidences involved Takata Corp air bags, which were the subject of a massive recall recently.
Law requires that automakers quickly report any information on defects, injuries, deaths or other claims made by consumers.
