DETROIT (WKZO) — Protesters greeted the national media outside of Cobo Center.
Ahead of the Press Preview Days at the North American International Auto Show Sunday, the group was demanding better on-the-job safety. They also want equal pay for workers hired in at lower salaries as part of a tiered payment system.
In the “Detroit Free Press,” Melvin Thompson, a former UAW local president says, “I don’t think that automakers enjoying record profits can say that to pay everyone what they were paying them ten years ago is a hardship on the company.”
