DETROIT (WKZO) — The arrest of a man wanted for carjacking, armed robbery and absconding parole will be investigated by Michigan State Police.
Andrew Jackson, Jr. was arrested on Monday by officers from Detroit, Grosse Pointe Park, Harper Woods and Highland Park, with the incident being caught on video. The recording appears to show officers punching and kicking the 51-year-old after he had been handcuffed.
Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety Chief David Hiller tells the “Detroit Free Press” that given the serious nature of Jackson’s previous offenses and the crimes he’s accused of, officers took “proper” action in the arrest.
