Investigators Await Toxicology Report For Kent County Sheriff’s Sergeant After Crash

UNDATED (WHTC)- A rollover crash involving a personal vehicle of an off duty Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy is being investigated by county officials. Sergeant Peter Gerkin, a long time officer with the Department was seriously injured and hospitalized after the January 4th incident, and the preliminary investigation resulted in a toxicology test being administered . Should the results come back positive investigators will pass the information on to the Kent County Prosecutors office. It is not sure what Gerkin’s status is currently with the Kent County Sheriff’s Dept. No crime has been charged to Gerkin
