LANSING (WKZO) — Governor Rick Snyder has vetoed bills concerning e-cigarettes.
The bills would have banned the use of e-cigarette devices by minors, but Snyder took the advice of health officials that said the legislation simply did not go far enough in regulating the devices. In a release from the governor’s office, Snyder said “It’s important that these devices be treated like tobacco products and help people become aware of the dangers e-cigarettes pose.”
Snyder added that he would prefer to revise the existing definition of tobacco products to include e-cigarettes.
