DETROIT (WKZO) — A 43-year-old Warren woman who works for Chrysler will attend the State of the Union Address as part of President Obama’s focus on the auto industry. Tiairris Woodward says she is grateful for being chosen to sit in the First Lady’s box.
Woodward was hired for a line job at the Jefferson North Assembly plant in 2010, after Chrysler entered bankruptcy in a move initiated by the U.S. government. She spent a year working a second full time job with Detroit Public Schools to support her three children.
The President is expected to recognize Woodward and share her story during his speech before the joint session of Congress.
