LANSING (WKZO) — There are now two organizations that have formed in opposition to Governor Snyder’s ballot proposal seeking to increase the Michigan sales tax by one-percent in May to pay for road repairs.
The Coalition Against Higher Taxes and Special Interest Deals is the latest to file paperwork to register with the Secretary of State’s office, joining the Grand Rapids-based Protect MI Taxpayers organization that formed in December. The treasurer of the latest group is Paul Mitchell of Saginaw County, who said in a statement that the road repair and tax hike proposal is “a hodgepodge of bad ideas.”
Voters get their say on May 5th.
