GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) — Governor Rick Snyder remains confident that voters will back his proposal for a one-percent increase in the state’s sales tax to pay for road improvements and fund schools and local governments. He was in Grand Rapids on Monday to talk about career education, but also noted he’s not bothered by polling data showing people are opposed to the increase.
Snyder also is unfazed by one of Lansing’s top public relations firms pulling out of the campaign to push for approval of the tax in recent days. The governor called it “part of the startup” of a ballot proposal.
